Western Götaland region

Introduction

The Bohus trail is the North Sea trail in Western Götaland. The trail is 370 km long and runs through the inner part of the Bohus county landscape through forests, alongside lakes, over bogs and wilderness.

To walk along the North Sea trail/Bohus trail

The Swedish legal right of access to private land in open country allows you to ramble freely and pick berries and mushrooms in the forests and fields.

How do I get to and from the trail

The Bohus trail is long and passes through stretches of forest and sometimes pure wilderness. If you have access to a car, you can start anywhere where a road crosses the trail and where there is a possibility to park.

Where can I sleep and eat

Accommodation is mainly to be found in towns and densely populated areaswhich the trail passes, e.g. Gothenburg and suburbs, Kungälv, Uddevalla, Munkedal and Strömstad.
