Introduction

The Bohus trail is the North Sea trail in Western Götaland. The trail is 370 km long and runs through the inner part of the Bohus county landscape through forests, alongside lakes, over bogs and wilderness.

The trail only goes a few miles inland but still for a great part in pure wilderness. Here you can meet elks and beavers, pick berries and mushrooms. There are also possibilities for fishing.

The Bohus trail links up with the coastal trail in several places, permitting detours to coastal areas and providing the opportunity to make round trips and return to the point of departure.

Such links exist in the municipalities of Uddevalla, Munkedal, Tanum and Strömstad.

There are also links to the North Sea Cycle Trail. Alongside the trail from Munkedal and to the north there are also several canoe trails.

Tourist information about Western Götaland can be found at www.vastsverige.com and general information about Western Götaland can be found at www.vgregion.se
