Vest Agder

Introduction

Vest-Agder is the southernmost county in Norway and to many people synonymous with the term "Sørlandet" – the South coast, baking sunshine and warm, polished cliffs.

Along the coast rests a neat string of small towns with white, wooden houses: Flekkefjord, Farsund, Mandal and Kristiansand.

Walking the North Sea Trail

On the island Lista you can walk among 2-3000-year-old rock carvings and prehistoric burial sites in one of Norway's oldest and most well-preserved agricultural landscapes.

Getting there and public transport

Kristiansand is the most important gateway to the South coast. This town has an airport, a ferry terminal and downtown train and bus terminals.

Where to stay and eat

There are plenty of places to stay in Vest-Agder. The hotels are mainly located in the towns and villages.
