Walking Nørdsøstien – part of the North Sea Trail
Nordsøstien between Agger and Bulbjerg uses the old Emergency road. The route mainly consists of grass-covered wheel tracks in a magnificent and slightly hilly dune landscape with expansive views of the dune areas.
In between you also walk through shady plantations and on the white sandy beach with the sea and the eternally rumbling surf as your closest neighbour. The emergency road runs between the characteristic fishing villages of Agger, Nr. Vorupør, Klitmøller and Vigsø with supermarkets and various options for accommodation. |
In the smaller villages of Lyngby, Stenbjerg, Vangså and Lildstrand the options are more restricted. In the harbour town of Hanstholm there are a variety of shops. But the route also passes through uninhabited landscape of great beauty. The route is marked, but we recommend that you get hold of the pamphlet showing the North Sea Trail in Thy from museums or local tourist offices. You may also use the pamphlet “Vestkyststien Agger-Bulbjerg” published by "Skov- og Naturstyrelsen".
You can find this pamphlet, among other things, in holders at parking places or you can download it from the homepage of Thy Statsskovdistrikt as well as from the tourist office’s homepages |
