Walking the North Sea Trail

Walking by the sea is a special experience. Walking on the moors while waves break against sturdy cliffs and the wind ruffles your hair, or when the ocean is calm and the air is rich with the scents of brine and heather – it's balm for the soul.

We have marked the old routes through the wilderness with signs, cairns and information boards, and can offer you maps, brochures and web pages – all of which will make it easy for you to find your way and to learn how the cultural landscape was formed.

You get the opportunity to visit old fishing villages and lighthouses, spend the night at old trading posts and guest houses; you may combine walking with travelling by car, bicycle or boat through a world which will never cease to amaze and please you.

Planning walks on the North Sea Trail is easy. Visit the pages www.hordaland.no/kls/nl.

On these pages you will find maps of the towns, trails, distances and descriptions of the trails' landscapes and attractions.
