Getting there and public transport

Taking the sea route to Rogaland feels like the natural thing to do since this is a county where the ocean has always been people's livelihood as well as their home.

Stavanger and Haugesund is served by the ferry link Fjordline which will take you to Hanstholm (Denmark) or to Newcastle (Great Britain).

The ferry company Color Line operates between Stavanger and Hirtshals (Denmark).

Rogaland has airports in Stavanger and Haugesund with regular flights to and from destinations in Europe and other parts of Norway. The chances to book inexpensive flights are good.

Rogaland is well served by road links and public transport. And "every" road will take you here: The E39, the North Sea Road, the Suleskar Road and the Fjord Road. Egersund and Stavanger are also accessible by train.

Renting a car, going by bus, ferry or express boats are all easy alternatives. Through bus routes exist for the entire coast.
