Where can you sleep and eat

There are hotels or pubs offering accommodation in nearly all the towns along Drivvejen.

Most are found in Esbjerg: Visit www.danskehoteller.dk and www.visitvestjylland.dk.

There are hostels in Varde, Oksbøl, Esbjerg and Ribe www.danhostel.dk and in the immediate proximity of Drivvejen there are pubs with a small number of rooms.

In Ribe you can sleep at Denmark’s oldest hotel; “Hotel Dagmar”, www.hoteldagmar.dk or experience a night in a former gaol: www.dengamlearrest.dk.

If you want to sleep in a tent, there is a wide range of camp sites – from large sites to natural sites with shelters. Visit www.danskecampingpladser.dk, www.naturlejrpladser.dk.

There are restaurants, pubs and supermarkets in the towns along Drivvejen but there are not many possibilities for shopping on the route itself.

A good destination for an exciting meal is the old cattle dealers’ pub Ølofvad kro. It is at Alslev Å (Alslev river) east of Esbjerg. The pub dates from 1830 and is beautifully situated next to the old water mill Øluf Møllegaard.
