Where to stay and eat

Rogaland can offer accommodation catering to most needs, whether you prefer to stay in a hotel, a boarding house, a summer house, a fisherman's hut, a decommissioned lighthouse, a cabin or in a camping site.

You can choose between staying in a town, a village, or pretty much all by yourself by a fishing lake or on an island way out at sea.

Having a nice meal is an important part of the adventure. Choose between various gourmet restaurants or try local dishes in original surroundings.

Rogaland is known for its culinary sea delights. We recommend that you try the angler fish and the salmon, but also the simple and tasty dish dried herring with potatoes.

We also suggest that you give the lamb a try, for instance in the dish "fårikål" – a simple stew of lamb and cabbage.

If you visit Haugesund the local dessert specialty "Queen Maud Pudding" is a tasty conclusion to a nice meal.
