Parts of the route in the southern part of West Jutland are intact and follow the historical road, in other places the rambler is led along parallel paths or has to go along the tarmac for short stretches in order to follow the authentic trail.

In the north you are led through some of the many plantations for which west Jutland is famous. Here you may be lucky to see red deer, but mostly you will encounter roe deer, which are plentiful. Drivvejen runs through highly cultivated farmland and you can stop at one of the old pubs as cattle dealers have done for centuries. |

Around Esbjerg the landscape becomes really flat and you approach marshland, where there are plenty of opportunities for studying the birdlife. En route you can make a detour to the coast, for example, to Denmark’s most western point, Blåvandshuk or to Hjerting, an old fishing village. South of Ribe you can follow a path to Vadehavet where in past times the cattle were shipped from Hviding Nakke. |
