Along the route there are signs and information boards with the logo for the North Sea Trail, in total 650 km.

The signs are positioned where the route changes direction or where there is a long gap between signs. The route is divided into sections of 7-15 km in length (sometimes up to 20 km.). At the start of each section there is a section board which describes the two adjacent sections. |

The walking-route alternates between well-worn paths, beaches, field and forest tracks and small secondary roads. Exceptionally it follows cycle paths and verges. The route alternates between forest, beach, field and towns. On the coasts and at the lakes there are good opportunities for bathing and fishing. At many places the route is based on permits from private landowners who welcome ramblers on their land. It is therefore important to leave the surroundings as you found them and not to disturb grazing animals, inhabitants, summer cottage guests, etc. This way it is possible to gradually improve the route with new stretches. Don’t disturb the wild animals unnecessarily and don’t pick orchids, etc. |
